International Peace Day

Today is International Peace Day.   We read Todd Parr’s book The Peace Book, and created our own statements and illustrations about what peace is.  We then created a classroom book of our ideas and each student will get a copy tomorrow.

Important Forms this week!

Tonight in your student’s folder, you should see the following:

Their first reading log (they brought home a bright orange instruction and explanation worksheet last week)

Their weekly communication sheet (thank you for remembering to sign this each night!)

A permission slip for our first field trip in early October – please return asap!

Their RAZ kids log in information – an online reading resource we will be using in class and that also works at home.  Their personalized accounts will be ready to go later this week.

Welcome to a new school year!

Welcome to third grade!  I am so excited for a new school year – new students, new friends, new activities, and lots of new things to learn.

This is our class blog!  The menu items above are used in class by the students.  I will try to write a blog post at least once a week.  I will share what we are learning about, and post important reminders and announcements.

Please subscribe to the blog!  All you have to do is CLICK HERE, and submit your email address to sign up.  This way you will receive an email notification each time I write a new post.

You will have to confirm your subscription, so make sure to look for an automatic email reply in order to confirm it!  Let me know if you have any problems signing up.

Tomorrow’s field trip

THANK YOU for everyone who came to our performance this afternoon!  The kids did SO GREAT.  I am so unbelievably proud of them – both for their hard work on the performance and this entire year!  I sure am going to miss them all.

TOMORROW!  IF you are a chaperone – check in with the office at 9:45 and head down to our room (132) We will walk to buses at 9:55.

You had two lunch choices on the permission slip – a school bag lunch or to bring one from home.  If your student is bringing one from home, they need to bring something that is completely disposable.  It should be a great day!  (Good walking shoes would be a good idea as well!)
